My life has been a whirlwind lately.
In case you weren't aware, I have been working nights for the past month or so.
Wow.
I am delirious.
I am anti-social.
I can't remember the last time I ate
a meal at it's appropriate, designated time.
I sleep all day.
I go to bed,
it's light outside.
I wake up,
it's dark outside.
Everything is topsy turvy and I
THINK I MIGHT BE GOING CRAZY.
I was driving home from an 11PM-7AM shift the other day and was listening to
Arcade Fire...
(Which has kept me sane lately...new album, The Suburbs).
and heard the line,
"I used to sleep at night,
Before the flashing lights
settled deep into my brain"
I started LAUGHING HYSTERICALLY out of exhaustion.
It must have gone on for about 3 minutes... or so.
I am certain I looked like a lunatic.
Then I kept replaying that line over, and over, and over...and over.
It totally made my day.
Then, I got home and went to bed.
Hope you enjoy it as much as
I did.

Haha, I love feeling that kind of delirious.... sometimes. When I was working at La Quinta I covered the "auditors shift" twice for somebody. It's a strange time, you start hearing things and eventually you run out of towels to fold so you start looking at guests names in the computer just for fun. The 11pm-7am is completely different from the 3pm-11pm, as is the 7am-3pm. It's good that you're changing your schedule up a bit. It'll help you relate to other people working those shifts in the future.
