It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

I guess the time has come for me to accept the fact that I am among that special group of "Unemployed".
Due to a series of unfortunate events, which I won't delve too deeply into, the ownership company that owned my beloved EDITION decided that Marriott was not for them. They illegally and unethically came into our hotel in the cover of night and took over, changing the managers, the name of the hotel and the integrity of our employees.

That was 3 weeks ago...and feels as if it were 3 years ago. These past 3 weeks have produced some of the most emotional, upsetting, wonderful, and eye-opening moments of my life.  I cannot express to you of how my heart broke when I found out that all the hard work, long hours, and dedication I have put into EDITION the past year are now moot. And, the fact that I couldn't see my EDITION family on a daily basis anymore felt like I was experiencing a horrible break up.

However, they have also been some of the most insightful moments of my life. I have made some of the most wonderful friends through this experience and I will never forget the ideals, lessons, and values I have taken out of EDITION.

At church this past Sunday, there was an excerpt that was shared from President Hinckley which hit me to the core. It is as follows:

"Are these perilous times? They are. But there is no need to fear. We can have peace in our hearts and peace in our homes. We can be an influence for good in this world, every one of us. My plea is that we stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. I am suggesting that as we go through life we 'accentuate the positive.' I am asking that we look a little deeper for the good, that we still our voices of insult and sarcasm, that we more generously compliment and endorse virtue and effort. Go forward in life with a twinkle in your eye and a smile on your face, but with great purpose in heart. May the God of Heaven, the Almighty, bless us, help us, as we walk our various ways in the uncertain days that lie ahead. May we look to Him with unfailing faith. May we worthily place our reliance on His Beloved Son who is our great Redeemer, whether it be in life or in death".

I am so grateful for challenges and so thankful that I have experiences to learn from. Here's to the future!

EDITION...You've been great to me. I love all of these people and I hope our paths cross again someday soon.
